I haven’t posted about any of my stalking victims subjects recently because, well, I started getting a little nervous. Not about what the people would think (personally, I love it when someone is googlestalking me), but rather that I’d end up on some “list” somewhere, where people in dark suits with white shirts and skinny ties (and Wayfarers, if this is really done “Hollywood” style) would be keeping tabs on my every odd move – and there are a lot of them. So, in order to be a little more “invisible” in my googlestalking, I’ve refrained from posting the objects of my interest for awhile.
But, it’s spring, training is in high gear, and who isn’t in the mood to obsessively follow some superstars?
Right now I’m obsessed with triathletes. Their very regimented training programs help keep me motivated when I am training for a 24 Hour race because they are more structured than that of a trail runner. There’s something almost comforting about watching someone else just put in the work, lap after lap, in the pool,on the run,and on the bike, that makes me feel not so crazy.
So, here is who I’m stalking right now:
Leanda Cave. The winner of the 2012 Ironman World Championships, this lady is a badass. She has a great blog, that even though I’m not a triathlete, I love to read just to get her take on training, racing, and professional athletics, in general.
Mirinda Carfrae. Always giving Leanda a run for her money, Mirinda is a spitfire of energy and intensity. She has a series of YouTube videos online if you want to actually watch her train in Boulder – very cool.
Chrissie Wellington. Everyone who follows competitive anything knows Chrissie, so you’re probably stalking her already. She is the most successful female triathlete in the world. And she seems pretty nice, to boot. I loved her book, “Beyond Limits,” and really enjoy her blog, too.
Andy Cohen. No, he’s not a triathlete, but he is definitely stalker worthy. And I don’t just stalk athletes, people. Although he doesn’t have his own website, if you google him, he pops up in a million places, perfect for a full morning of googlestalking after you’ve finished his book.
Now, get stalking. And then go running!
Happy Running!

I will have to try this stalking thing you speak of. Either that or just move to Boulder. Oh but I’d probably be last in my AG in Boulder.
The last person I cyber-stalked is a paralympic athlete called David Rolfe. Not because I have any fetish but because he has asked a close friend on a date. I have to make sure he’s good enough for her. So far so good – a man who adopts a deaf dog and has a chicken called Bruce sounds like he has a kind heart and a sense of humour.

Yes, Marcia, Boulder is thick with athletes!
He sounds wonderful, Char. I will start stalking him, as well 🙂
