Whew! I Made It!

by Carilyn on June 13, 2012

I just received word that I made the 2012 US National 24 Hour Team which will compete in the World Championships in Poland in September.  I am beyond excited!  As you know, I had a tough couple of years after Tim’s accident, and mentally could not really race.  I signed up for the Desert Solstice 24 Hour as a way to overcome some demons that had been haunting me about running.  I was more than surprised when I ended up with 130.92 miles and the potential for a spot on the National Team – something that hadn’t even crossed my mind when I signed up.

It’s been 3 years since I was on the Team USA, and I am honored and thrilled to represent my country.  Thank you to all of you who sent messages of support during the rough times – and the good times.

Here is the list of the team:

Congratulations Carilyn. That’s really great news.

I’ve been thinking of you lots this week – probably because you hadn’t posted – and was wondering how it was all going. How are your feet??
