Just Another Manic Monday

After a weekend of guests and general busy-ness, it is time to get down to business.  That meant getting up at 4:45 to run. Starting laundry. Making a delicious and healthy breakfast for the kids.

Instead, I woke up at 12:35 and couldn’t go back to sleep until 4:15!!!!  Aggggghhhhhh!!

What I Had Planned for Monday:

1.  Wake up at 4:45.  Run 8 miles on Treadmill

2.  Start laundry

3.  Make eggs, toast, fruit

4.  Leave promptly at 7:30

5.  Starbucks

6.  6 miles

7.  Coaching client

8.  Crab Roll from Lobstatruck

9.  Coaching client

10.  Swim for one hour

11.  Coaching client

12.  Start dinner – Caldillo (Mexican beef stew)

13.  Last 6 miles on trail

14.  Pick up kids

15.  Dinner

16.  Long, hot bath

17.  Bed

New Revised Schedule for Monday

1.  Wake up bleary-eyed and delirious at 6:30.

2.  Lay in bed for 15 more minutes and think about laundry.

3.  Throw on sweats and rush downstairs to make breakfast – toast with peanut butter and Nutella.  Give kids milk to ease maternal guilt about feeding children chocolate for breakfast.

4.  Leave 15 minutes late for school, driving like a bat out of hell to get kids to school, hoping no one in Los Angeles feels like shooting me this morning, all the while telling kids not to drive like me.

5.  Run through Starbucks, grab coffee, then spill half of it down the front of my shirt.

6.  Race home to get laundry started, but realize I forgot to start dishes before I left.  Can’t run both at the same time.  Have to pick.  Dishes before clean clothes.

7.  Finish what’s left of coffee and jump on treadmill for 8 mile run.  Realize there is only time for 5 before client consult.  Consult is over skype, so put on hat to cover sweaty head.

8.  Run 8 miles after consult.

9.  Make a tuna sandwich and pretend it is a Crab Roll from Lobstatruck.

10.  Start second coaching consult.  Thankfully, it is over the phone, so no need to wear a hat – phew!

11.  Skip the swim and do “aerobics” in my living room.

12.  Run last run around the neighborhood – no time to go to the trails.

13.  Still hoping to make Caldillo for dinner because I think McDonald’s would officially put me in the “bad mother” category.

14.  Do at least one load of laundry so sons don’t go to school tomorrow in sweats.

15.  Take short, hot shower while staring longingly at new bubble bath that I don’t have time to use.

16.  Set alarm back to 4:45 for tomorrow.  Consider taking Benadryl.

17.  Collapse into bed at 9:00.

Man o man what a nutty day. It happens to the best of us sometimes but Ive gotta and it to you for squeezing in as much as you did on the fly. Lemons out of lemonade right? That crab roll you speak of sounds good! : )

Thanks, Marcia! I felt bad about posting it after I read how sick you are! Some days are just crazier than others 🙂
