I had fully intended to do six weeks of 140-plus miles, but only ended up with five. Hubz was threatening to send me to Europe by myself, telling me I had gotten “bitchy” and “no fun to be around,” and since I had publicly stated I might kill him in my last post, and therefore would be the first suspect if he accidentally swallowed rat poison, I knew retaliation was not an option. I had to get “unbitchy,” and that meant getting some rest. So, my week was a little lighter (and a little less ominous for my family):
Miles run: 120
Rest days: 1
Hill workouts: 1
Speed workouts: 2
Aerobics: 5
Core workouts: 6
Swim workouts: 2
Outfits worn: 17 (I swam in my running clothes)
Cupcakes eaten: 2 PLUS almost half of my parent’s 58th Wedding Anniversary Cake – Go Mom and Dad!
Slushies consumed: 0 (a count I plan to rectify this week, but because of above mentioned cake consumption I was afraid I’d get diabetes)
Bowls of Cap’n Crunchberries consumed: 4 (so bad, it’s good)
Times my childhood nickname “Brujita” (little witch) was used by members of my running group: 4
Times I accidentally tripped the person running next to me: 4
Number of people who e-mailed me to say they were pissed at their Running MogulΒ description: 7
Number of people who e-mailed me to say they felt sorry for Hubz: 5
Number of people who e-mailed me to say they felt sorry for me: 0
Number of people who e-mailed me to say they felt sorry for my kids: 1 (And his e-mail address just happened to match my son’s)
Happy Running!

I hear that cake for any anniversary over 30 years is calorie-free, so you really should have gone for the slushie…not that you have to worry about calories running 120 miles in a shorter week! π
Were you called Brujita before or after you tripped the person running next to you? I’m just wondering if the tripping was in retaliation or visa versa. I’m really glad there was no bloodshed since your last post. I’ve heard it’s really hard to get your miles in when you’ve been incarcerated.
OOOOOOOHHHH! Does that mean I can finish the rest of the cake π
The tripping was definitely retaliation – I never strike first π And your right, Char, prison is tough on training π
There are times when no kind of answer will satisfy the wife. That is the classic set-up if I ever heard one. I hope the bit of rest helped you and Hubz.
It did! π
Just wanted to stop by and say hey… I just found your blog and will be reading it from now on! π Wow… 120 miles for the week is impressive! π
Thanks for stoping by, Zaneta! π
Carilyn, please increase the number for feeling sorry for Hubz from 5 to 6. You can keep the number that feel sorry for you should at “0”–lol!!! It was great hanging with y’all in Poland–can’t wait till Desert Solstice!!!
